About Us
The Nordic meaning north, was given its name due to our location in the North central region of the United States…Minnesota! We chose this because it reminds us of our surroundings and being out in nature with the illusive Northern Lights. We have gone through many changes over the years and we have reached our final stage of evolution as Minnesota’s Classiest Dive Bar!

Nordic opened Nov of 2018 originally as the Nordic Brewing Co LLC, Owner Zachery Barthel and Head Brewer Matthew Belz hit the ground making incredible beer! In 2022 Nordic went from a brewery to a full taphouse and in 2025 Owner Zachery was blessed to meet some lovely folks that helped him purchase his own building for the pub move in to! Through hard decisions the brewery side of things had to be let go and the Nordic Taphouse was born!
The decor throughout the Pub mainly came from Barthel’s family farm up north in Fort Ripley MN. Mykel, his father collected all sorts of things throughout the years and hand picked most of the horns hung throughout the pub. Everything, floor to ceiling, from the poured bar top to the wallpaper it was all done by hands of the Nordic family. We could not have have flipped this new building project without help from some of our awesome friends within the community!! Our kitchen staff truly cares and puts forth great effort to bring the best food to our area! From burgers, wings, flatbreads, pasta, salads, wraps and protein bowls! We have a little something for everyone.
Our cooks love to create food that tastes like good food with the aromatics of the foodiest food that is for eating.
